Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill Supply Property Clerk III position, within the Fiscal Management Division, Clothing Supply Unit.
About this Position:
This is a full performance administrative support position with various duties and responsibilities carried out in support of the Fiscal Management Division. Work assignments require knowledge of centralized procurement, receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution procedures. The incumbent in this position is authorized to carry out those duties and responsibilities in accordance with the established performance standards and is subject to reporting and justifying task outcomes to those above him/her in the Department's chain of command. The incumbent treats all personnel and personnel related matters as strictly confidential.
Examples of Work
Receives interdepartmental requisitions for supplies and equipment and fills requisitions. Checks shipments for completeness of orders.
Receives and checks the shipment of supplies and equipment verifying supply invoice data.
Ensures that adequate supplies of equipment, uniform item, and printed materials are maintained to provide for departmental needs.
Removes items from stock; including discontinued, outdated, spoiled or damaged items.
Maintains and develops electronic inventory system for equipment, police uniform items, and supplies.
Receives, issues and surveys clothing, equipment and other supplies utilized by the Police Department
Maintains inventory records of departmental equipment; keeps timely accurate records of clothing and uniform items issued to departmental personnel.
Maintains the clothing warehouse inventory items in an orderly fashion.
Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties that may not be specifically listed in position description but are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.
Must have experience at the Supply/Property Clerk II level equal to the probationary period; or possess high school diploma or GED certificate with at least two (2) years experience in varied inventory control work including purchasing, distribution, invoicing and/or procurement and stocking a broad variety of equipment, materials, or supplies. Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience will also be accepted
Previous experience of storeroom and warehousing processes and procedures, billing procedures, contracts, auto service centers, and equipment utilized. Previous experience to operate and make minor repairs or perform routine maintenance to materials handling equipment.

Work Environment: Supply Property work is performed in an office and warehouse setting. Must be able to lift 50 lb. boxes.
DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
