Terms of Employment:
Start Date: Immediate
Responsible to: Building Principal or Designee
Location: Upper or Freshman Campus as assigned
Calendar: School Year Employee – 180 days + 6 float days as assigned
Daily Schedule: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm; daily schedule may vary depending on the office assignment
Hours Per Day: 8.0 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Hourly Rate: $13.01
Benefits: Eligible for medical benefits and paid leave. IMRF participation is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous secretarial experience preferred.
Microsoft Office and Google Docs experience with strong computer skills.
Candidate must be detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills and adaptability to a changing work environment.
Ability to work efficiently under minimum supervision with frequent interruptions.
Must respect confidentiality of sensitive information.
Work with staff, students, parents, and the general public in a professional and appropriate manner.
The ability to come to work on a regular basis and to be timely.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices.
Answer, screen, and make phone calls as needed.
Monitor the office door.
Greet and assist visitors, staff, and/or students as needed.
Receive, distribute, organize, file, etc documents received in the office.
Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive, and efficiently operating office
Assist with special office projects.
Remain current and knowledgeable about the office activities.
Organize and post announcements, signs, and/or communications.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
Exposure to noise and acitivity of a school setting.
