The general function of the position within the organization is to provide work that is defined and related to the support and assistance in the processing of incoming and outgoing mail. This position is under supervision.
Operate mail room and print shop equipment.
Drive county vehicle on scheduled route to satellite locations to deliver and pick-up mail, finished print shop jobs and office supplies.
Sort incoming USPS and inter-departmental correspondence.
Scan incoming express mail and certified mail to provide tracking of delivery.
Maintain inventory of all supplies necessary for mail center equipment and for processing outgoing USPS mail.
All other related duties as assigned.

Performs semi-skilled work involving rules/systems with almost constant problem solving; requires normal attention with short periods of concentration for accurate results and occasional exposure to unusual pressure.
Makes decisions with moderately serious impact – affects work unit and may affect other units or citizens.
Handles machines, tools, equipment, requiring moderate instruction and experience such as mail room equipment and print shop equipment.
Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.
Requires high school diploma, GED, or vocational training.
Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License supplemented by a satisfactory driving record
Requires light work involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis, and moderate dexterity in operating machinery, tools, or office equipment.
