The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Confidential Secretary in the Public Works department.
Responsibilities will include interacting and responding to public inquiries in person, over the phone and in writing; researching, obtaining, organizing, preparing and distributing data, reports, memos, documents and other pertinent information relating to the City; utilizing various computer programs; and performing complex administrative duties as required for efficient operation of the office. Duties also include establishing and maintaining filing; ordering supplies; answering phones and acting as a receptionist.
Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. Requires strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle interruptions and multitask. Strong organizational, proof reading, and editing skills are desired. Spanish bilingual is preferred.
Starting pay is $21.90/hr. or depending on experience. Excellent benefit package included.
